Tarime sits in the northern region of Tanzania, nestled between the Serengeti and Lake Victoria. This remote area, occupied by multiple self-governing tribes, is dotted by farms ranging from 2-8 hectares. These farmers make their living growing coffee and other cash crops as well as subsistence crops. Tarime has a handicap because it is over 1200km by road to the port at Dar Es Salaam, making for high transport costs over hot, dusty roads. A large bean, AA screen size, this lot of washed coffee is brilliance in acidic impression. Like the coffees from neighboring Kenya, Tanzanian coffee can have mouthcleansing acidity, and this Tarime lot does not disappoint.
