Colombia La Pradera Geisha

Honey sweetness from aroma to cup, with signature lemon and mandarin flavor, balanced with roasted walnut

Hacienda La Pradera was found in 1971 by the Daza Bautista family. Being organic certified and sustainable forest farming is the core principal when setting up this farm. Over 50 years of development, it’s now having 100,000 hectares of forest covering farm growing 10 different carefully selected cultivars. Today, the La Pradera family farm is joined by 8 other farms, a QC lab, and wet and dry mills as part of the La Pradera coffee company.

La Pradera is located in Aratoca, Santander, at an altitude of 1700 meters in close proximity to the Chicamocha canyon, with very low humidity, good sunlight exposure and warm winds. All of the 350,000 trees grown in La Pradera are organic certified with a combination of castillo, colombia and caturra varieties. Some lots are planted with Tabi, Typica, Geisha and Bourbon varietals, also organic certified.

This lot of coffee is Geisha (or Gesha) variety grown in Hacienda La Pradera. Being the most expensive variety of speciality coffee today, growing Geisha variety becomes phenomenal in Central and South America in past few years. From the micro climate of Santander and experience of Daza family, quality of this geisha lot is exceptionally good.
