Peru Organic La Victoria Coop SWP Decaf

Dried strawberry, winey accents, and dark chocolate

Overview & Character

This certified organic decaf from the La Victoria Cooperative in Peru delivers an exceptionally vibrant, fruit-forward flavor profile that stands out among specialty decafs. Sourced from high-quality organic lots with intense initial sweetness, this coffee demonstrates how much origin character can be preserved through gentle decaffeination.

Swiss Water Process (SWP)

Decaffeinated using the 100% chemical-free Swiss Water Process, green beans are processed using pure water to extract caffeine while locking in the intrinsic sugars, organic acids, and complex flavor compounds.

Flavor Profile & Cupping Notes

  • Fragrance & Aroma: Dry grounds show distinctive fruit sweetness with notes of dried strawberry, winey accents, and dark chocolate. Brewing releases warm aromas of cooked plum, berry sauce, and dried peach.
  • Flavor Profile: Highly expressive and sweet. Lighter roasts yield notes of Fruit Loops cereal, dried strawberry, and fruit jam, balanced by a rich dark drinking chocolate base.
  • Complexity & Body: As the cup cools, deep, herbal-sweet undertones of burdock, sarsaparilla, and subtle fermented berry hints begin to emerge alongside smooth chocolate.
  • Finish: Long and persistent, leaving a unique combination of dark cocoa powder and sweet banana milk.
