lemon zest, bright citrus, black tea

About This Coffee
We are excited to present Ethiopia Washed Yirgacheffe Kochere Chelektu G1 — a beautiful expression of the world-famous Yirgacheffe region.
The Chelelektu washing station, built in 2010 in the Kochere kebele, serves as a vital collection and processing hub for hundreds of smallholder farmers. It processes up to 950,000 kg of coffee cherries annually from approximately 363 contributing smallholders. These farmers grow traditional heirloom varieties in garden-style coffee plots at high elevations, following time-honored Ethiopian farming practices.
Kochere is one of the most prestigious sub-regions within Yirgacheffe, known for its misty highlands, rich red volcanic soils, and ideal microclimate. The washed processing at Chelelektu emphasizes cleanliness and clarity, allowing the delicate florals and bright fruit notes to shine through.

Flavor Profile
Cupping Notes: Delicate jasmine and bergamot florals greet the nose, followed by vibrant lemon zest, juicy peach, and smooth black tea undertones. Bright, sparkling citrus acidity creates a refreshing, tea-like body with a clean, lingering floral finish.
Recommended Roast: Light to Medium-Light (Agtron #75-65). Ideal for pour-over, AeroPress, or cold brew to highlight its floral and citrus complexity.
