Adding 7 new coffee for the month. Three of them are coming from our all-time favorite though smaller origins (as compare to EKCG) – Burundi, Honduras & El Salvador. The new Ethiopian is coming from Sidama, high altitude Bensa highlight region, a very bright floral one. Special of the month are 3 speciality grade arabica (two are Kenyan SL variety) coffees coming from the famous Golden Triangle.
The Golden Triangle in South East Asia is famous of growing opium, which turn out also good for growing coffee. Under a UN opium replacement program starting from 70’s, the governments of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar try to help farmers to swap from growing opium to sugarcane, coconuts, cacao, and a few other profitable crops, and of course coffee! Chiang Rai of Thailand, with the push from Royal family, is the most successful area now which can constantly produce high quality specialty coffee to the world. For Laos and Myanmar, sourcing is still a big problem, these 2 lots are not easy to get at all. Don’t miss the change to taste the coffee and support those small farmers in their life transformation.
